Birthday Bash

July 9th was my birthday. We got the entire team, including the Georgia contingent together for dinner at the pizza restaurant. The 16 of us (Becky was down for the count) spilled over two tables for dinner. I got the seat of honor – I’ve never quite experienced such a thing.
Half the group. The two new faces, if I got it right were Christine on the left and Gaan on the right.
The other half of the group. Britt is to my left, and his wife Robin is between him and Bekah.
Following dinner (and unfortunately after the parents meeting started), I got a little African birthday cheer – Kirk would have liked the percussion section, with a couple of 5 gallon water bottle bass drums, a #5 can tom-tom, and a sugar bowl snare.
It was quite good, then they sung happy birthday. Unfortunately, most of the team was in our parents meeting, and we ran off after paying for the expensive cake – 1000 kenyan shillings (about $12.50).
We came back after the meeting to actually eat the cake. It was a banana cake.
