Today is the third day of my vacation. The photo above of a couple reserving their spot for the Huntington Beach 4th of July Parade and Surf City 5K Run is from the online version of the Orange County Register. If you look really hard through the trees in the background you can see our house. It was taken this morning at around 7:00. In order to get a spot, you actually have to start early. In our neighborhood, some people came last night and camped out to insure they got the spot they wanted. We were up at 3:30 this morning in order to reserve a spot for tomorrow. We have no choice. The parade, as well as the 5K run, comes to our house every 4th of July. And our friends come to our house to see the parade and run. The difference is we are not providing the food and other accommodations we usually do. After all, we leave the next day for Africa.
Thank you for following our adventure and praying for us.
Blessings,
Joe W.
