I am in my ”checking off my list” mode right now. I have all sorts of things to remember to pack for the 3 in our family – Joe, Amanda, and myself. In the midst of all this, we will be staking our 4th of July parade-watching space on Main Street in Huntington Beach tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. This means getting up around 3 or 4 a.m. to make sure we have room for some of our friends who will come to watch the parade Sunday morning. If you are one that will be coming, don’t expect much of a food spread. Maybe some chips, dip, coffee cake and drinks. Not anything like the parties we’ve had in past years.
I am excited about the possibilities of serving the WBT/SIL branch workers in Africa. They have challenges day in and out - living in an unfamiliar culture, dealing with education and health issues, along with being actively involved in their ministry. May God give each of them a special blessing as they prepare to leave the daily tasks and come to Conference for refreshment.
If you are up before 5 a.m. tomorrow morning, my favorite is a grande 2 pump mocha misto with non-fat milk and foam.
